Young Enterprise

Young Enterprise at Sir Jonathan North has been highly successful in previous years.  For further information on the group please contact Mr Pope.

During 2016 - 2017 the Young Enterprise group 'Food4thought' took part in a trade fair at Highcross shopping centre, took part in the area finals and went on to the county finals becoming runners up overall.

Below are some highlights of their year.

Food4thought Compete At County Finals - April 2017

Our Young Enterprise company, Food4Thought, competed at the Young Enterprise Leicestershire Innovation Awards on Tuesday 25 April at Loughborough University. They had already won awards at the Area Final for best presentation, best innovation and a place in the County Finals.

The team submitted a business report two weeks before the final for judges to read prior to their interview. The final element students were judged on was a four minute presentation given to an audience of over one hundred people.

After the judges had made their decision, Food4Thought received awards for ‘best presentation’ and ‘best company report’. They were also named runners up which unfortunately means they have not won a place in the regional final.

The Young Enterprise journey for Food4Thought is not quite over as they will need to liquidate their company before half term. They have done very well to win through to the area final and to win awards at the county final. The team has learnt a lot about business along the way. Well done!

Trade Fair At Highcross Shopping Centre - March 2017

Our Young Enterprise company ‘Food4Thought’ entered the Leicestershire Young Enterprise Trade Fair at the Highcross Shopping Centre on Sunday 26 February. Despite an early start, the group arrived full of energy and enthusiasm for the day ahead. They set up their stand and awaited customers to buy their products. The judges came to talk to the companies and judged the best trade stand at the trade fair. Food4Thought won an award for ‘Best Trade Stand Performance’. This was awarded to the company with the best corporate image, sales volumes, engagement with the public, professionalism,  enthusiasm and product knowledge. The company   sold over £120 worth of books.  ‘Taste Tradition’ is a recipe book celebrating recipes from the many different festivals that take place in Leicester.  We now wish them good luck at the National Young Enterprise Trade Fair in Stratford upon Avon on Saturday 11 March 2017.
