Eleven students in Years 8 and 9 who attended The Diana Award formal Anti-bullying Ambassador training in April 2019 attended a SJNC Training day before half term. This was to refresh their knowledge on the effects of bullying and how to direct students to support and plan activities to do at Sir Jonathan North College.
Meet the ambassadors:

Anti-Bullying Training - November 2019
During lessons 1 and 2 on Thursday 7th November 25 students who are either their Form Group Student Council Representatives or a member of the Student Executive attended Anti-bullying training. Students learnt about what bullying is, the impact of bullying, how to be an Upstander, where to go for help and how to support others. Time was spend discussing support available and what more we can do and planning future events, including activities for next week's anti-bullying week. Students took away merchandise for themselves and some to give to others with the anti-bullying message Change Starts With Us on them to remind them of the anti-bullying message that was discussed. Students ended the session by signing a pledge with their finger prints to say that they will stand up to bullying, be Upstanders and help SJNC be a happy place for all.
Students are proud to be SJNC Anti-bullying ambassadors and will soon be wearing the badges below so that students can recognise them and go to them for support and guidance. Two areas of the playground have also been identified where students can go if they are having any issues and the ambassadors will look out for students in these areas and approach them for support.
I want to take this opportunity to thank these 25 students and our existing 11 Diana Award Anti-bullying ambassadors for their passion for anti-bullying and the help they are already giving to many students.

Thank you so much for keeping us up-to-date with how your school’s Anti-Bullying Ambassadors have been getting on.
It sounds as though things are going well and you’ve made good progress since we caught up with you last – please congratulate the team for all their hard work so far!
It’s great to hear about all the creative ideas you have successfully carried out, and those planned to take place over the forthcoming year. We particularly liked hearing about the in-house training day for the Anti-Bullying Ambassadors and the upcoming assemblies they are set to deliver. We’re also glad to see that you have decided to update your school’s anti-bullying policy and have been making use of our online resources – thanks for the photo!
As a team you’re beginning to make great progress!
