Silver Arts Award Presented to 17 Year 10 Students

17 Year 10 students have successfully passed their Silver Arts Award.

They have worked incredibly hard for two years and the moderator was extremely impressed with their portfolios.  Each portfolio evidenced their arts challenge, research into careers/pathways in dance, reviews of arts events and their show in December 2016 'Something out of nothing...' which they put together themselves from scratch.

Talking to the moderator the students reflected back on their award and Mia said, 'I have gained so much from it, confidence, performance and leadership skills but most of all I have built new friendships! Grace added, 'I have opted for GCSE Dance and the Arts Award has given me so many new skills that I can transfer to it.  I really enjoyed the leadership opportunities and the challenge of making the vision of our show become a reality!'

The students portfolios were very beautifully presented with Amy and Millie opting to create amazing Arts Award websites! The moderator compared the students work to A Level standard!

Miss Matthew is very proud of their hard work and ongoing commitment, she is looking forward to seeing some students progress onto the Gold Arts Award at De Montfort University!

A big well done and congratulations to Beatrice, Grace, Mia, Ella, Amy, Grace, Janki, Millie, Amelie, Anya, Holly, Isobelle, Lauren, Jasmin, Lena, Sia and Elizabeth!
