Chemistry Week 2018 at SJNCC
Monday 19 November to Friday 23 November
After another successful Chemistry Week, the number of participants this year has been phenomenal with about 200 students getting involved. The idea behind chemistry week, this year, was to try and complete 9 tasks during lunchtimes. Each time an activity was completed, students got their card stamped. Those students who completed all 9 activities got a Royal Society of Chemistry pen and a glow stick about 100 students so far.
The 9 activities were varied and took place in three science labs and the Learning Resource centre every lunchtime. Thank you to all the science teachers, science technicians and Mrs Vyas for giving up their time to make the week possible.
Year 10 Triple Science students helped to run the activities. In order to do this, they had to attend training during previous week and then help to run an individual activity. They proved to be very enthusiastic science assistants. They will receive a certificate.
Thank you to the Royal Society of Chemistry for a grant which funded SJNCC’s Chemistry Week.
