Humanities

At Sir Jonathan North Humanities comprises of History, Geography, Religious Studies, Travel and Tourism, Citizenship and Business Studies.

The Humanities team is comprised of energetic and creative specialist teachers, whose aim is to provide the best quality education by delivering inspiring, challenging and stimulating lessons. At the same time, they strive to retain fun and enjoyment to ensure student motivation and engagement in all Humanities lessons.

A wide variety of teaching approaches are used to ensure this happens both in and outside of the classroom. Student computers and ipads are available for research in lessons and visits are made to many different venues to enhance the curriculum. Highlights include Warwick Castle, Poole’s Caverns and Nottingham Conkers.

The dedication and hard work of our students and the Humanities team is regularly recognised by our successful participation in competitions. The accomplishments of our team are manifold and include students’ annual Young Enterprise Awards, Fair Trade Award, Eco School Award and Heritage School Award.
