Vision2Learn Overview

An online course which can be studied independently in your own time or during lessons as part of a group or individually.
It is a continually assessed course with extensive guidance. There are no exams and more flexible deadlines which reduces some of the pressures. The student will gain a level 2 or level 1 NCFE accredited qualification.

Structure

In addition to the two main level 2 courses –Nutrition & Health or Equality & Diversity, you can also study one or all of three, level 1, life skills courses – Personal Money Management, Practical Problem Solving or Personal Best at Work.

  • Understanding how diet is linked to health.
  • Understanding the components of a healthy diet.
  • Nutrients.
  • The principles of healthy food preparation.
  • Special dietary requirements.
  • Religious/ethnic influences and other beliefs.
  • Misleading information.
  • Understanding food additives….Amongst others

  • Living in a diverse world.
  • Describing yourself in a diverse society.               
  • Stereotyping and labelling.        
  • Prejudice and discrimination.  
  • Having an equal opportunity.
  • Maintaining and monitoring equality and diversity.
  • Threats to creating and maintaining a diverse environment.    
  • Frameworks and support structures for ensuring equality and diversity…amongst others.

Additional Information

What exams are there?
NCFE accredited course at level 1 and level 2 which is GCSE equivalent. It is a module based course which is marked and moderated individually as each unit is completed. There is no exam.

Option Block
This course is offered to selected students as an alternative to one of their options.

Progression
This course equips students with practical skills useful in a wide range of employment. The qualifications are approved within the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) at Level 1 and level 2 and encompass the principles of Foundation Learning.
