Subject Overview
As an Applied Learning College, we offer a range of vocational courses in Key stage 4 including applied GCSE's, NCfE and BTEC courses at Level One and Level Two. These courses are well established vocational courses recognised and valued by post-16 Colleges and employers. Each qualification is equivalent to two GCSEs. These courses offer students :
- An opportunity to choose ‘new’ subjects linked to vocational areas
- More practical style of teaching and learning
- Opportunities for independent work
- Assessment by portfolio for BTEC's unit by unit – no final exam
