Students in examsThe new academic year has started positvely with an excellent number of examination and test results. 80% of year 11 students achieved 5 or more A*- C GCSE passes in all subjects and 63% of students achieved 5 A*- C GCSE passes including English and Maths.

We were delighted that so many students will now progress to the course of their choice at a local Further Education or Sixth Form College.

The results at Key Stage 4 continue to improve. In 2011 the percentage of students achieving five or more GCSE A*-C grades including Maths and English increased to a college high of 63%. The Average Point Score increased by 29% to a College best of 521. This is equivalent to every single student in Year 11 achieving nine GCSEs at grade A. The percentage of students achieving five or more GCSE A*-C grades has increased in eight of the last nine years and is now 80%. All of the Core College subjects improved their results with 83% of students achieving GCSE A* - C in English and 64% in Mathematics.

Key Stage Three results were again very good.
